We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God as its author, salvation for its end, and truth without mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us, and shall remain to the end of the world.  We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus is Savior, Lord Christ,  and the incarnate reality of God. 

We believe the Scriptures teach that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by convenant in the faith and fellowship   of the Gospel, observing the ordinanaces of Christ; governed by his laws; and excercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word. The  COR seeks to be a faithful voice of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We value excellence in worship of God by the command to witness the Gospel of our Lord and Savior.

It all started with eight people in a living room in 1944. They had no money, no people, no finances, but a big vision and big faith, in a Big God who does miraculous things through people, with big faith!  The church has been around over a span of seven decades, with more than eight or more shepherds and a few name changes. In January of 2003 the congregation was left without a shepherd after the untimely death of their pastor of eighteen years. After almost two years without a shepherd, in December of 2004 God "called"  Rev. Elliott T. Ivey all the way from Pell City, Alabama to Oakland, California as the new residing pastor, leader and teacher for the last fifteen years at the Church of Restoration.
